In Memoriam - Henry "Fireball" Lewis
August 31, 1942 - May 8th, 2009

Henry Lewis, founder and CEO of Henry's Bail Bonds,
was in
the bail bond business for over two decades. Trained by the late Mr. Leo Ickhard, Henry became the owner of Inland
Bonding which grew to be one of the largest bonding
companies in Seattle under Henry's solid leadership.
He repeated that successful formula
with Henry's Bail Bonds. He gave credit to Leo for
his success, stating: "Leo was like
a father to me, he taught me the bail bond
business and was an inspiration; a living
example of the spirit of Martin Luther King
and a wonderful friend and mentor."
Henry
learned about the business of bail bonds from Leo
-- but he also learned
something else very important -- to treat the
people in trouble with dignity, respect and
compassion. It is a lesson Henry learned
well...to take extra care and time with those
incarcerated as well as helping their
friends and families
during the stressful process of getting their
loved ones out of jail. Henry's
long and varied career as a bail bondsman was very effectively documented on the
the hit T.V. series "Bounty Hunter" and his
well-earned reputation for honesty and fast
service preceded him everywhere he went.
Henry and was more than just an excellent bail bond
agent,
he also was deeply involved in the local
business community. In addition, he worked with disadvantaged
youth, supported charities and was involved in local
and national politics. Henry was very active in preserving the
memory and music of Jimi Hendrix and he hosted
an annual birthday party for Jimi at the
Ballard Firehouse for many, many years before
the Firehouse closed its doors.
The
pictures below are from some of Henry's
activities with charity and politics.
